Our Vicar
The Bishop’s Committee, with the help of the diocese, is in the process of selecting a new vicar.
In the interim, Rev. Lacy Largent is kindly serving as our Supply Priest.
Lacy+ currently serves as the full-time Episcopal Port Chaplain at the Houston International Seafarers’ Center. The Port of Houston is the eighth largest port in the world. She is responsible primarily for visiting seafarers onboard their ships, being available to seafarers who come visit their “home away from home” at the Seafarers’ Center, and teaching in the Houston Maritime Chaplaincy Training Program which trains new port chaplains from North and South America.
Lacy+ also serves part-time as the Spiritual Director of Camp Allen where she oversees the spiritual life of Camp Allen and coordinates the Chaplain-in-Residence Program whereby a chaplain is onsite at all times and leads the worship services held daily at Camp Allen.
Since her ordination in 1990, Lacy+ has also served as a Staff Chaplain at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, Assistant Rector at Good Shepherd/Kingwood, and Rector of St. Paul’s/Navasota.
Educationally, Lacy+ holds a B.A. in Social Welfare from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, an M.S.W. (Master of Social Work) from Washington University in St. Louis, and a M.Div. (Master of Divinity) from the Seminary of the Southwest in Austin. She worked as a Clinical Social Worker prior to her ordination.
Our former vicar, Rev. Stacey Fussell, is on sabbatical and will be moving to take a posting in Pennsylvania. We are very thankful for our time together, miss her, and wish her well in her new posting.
